Configuring AIR II Camera Settings
The Camera Settings tab lets you control how an AIR II camera records and analyzes footage for a specific device.
Step 1: Locate the Camera
Open the device's Camera Panel.
Camera Panel Access Permissions
To access the Camera Panel, users must have the following permissions enabled under their user role:
View Camera Panel – access to view camera feeds and footage within the Camera Panel.
Edit Camera Configurations – access to modify camera settings and configurations.
Users without View Camera Panel enabled will not be able to view/access the Camera Panel option; users with View Camera Panel but without Edit Camera Configurations will have read-only access.
Select the Camera Settings tab (alongside Events, Live, and History).
Confirm the correct device is shown under Details → Device before making changes.
Step 2: Set Record Feed
Choose which streams the camera captures:
Audio — records in-cab audio
Road Facing — records the forward-facing road view
Driver Facing — records the in-cab, driver-facing view
Unchecking a feed stops that stream from being captured, even if related alerts remain enabled.
Step 3: Set Blur Faces
Select one privacy option:
Option | Effect |
None | No faces blurred |
Driver | Blurs the driver's face only |
Passenger | Blurs passenger face(s) only |
All | Blurs every face detected in-cab |
💡 Tip: Set this according to your company's privacy policy and any applicable local privacy regulations.
Step 4: Configure Road Facing Alerts
Road-facing detection is always active and can't be turned off. Toggle individual alerts as needed:
Forward Collision Warning: Alerts when the vehicle is closing in on another vehicle too quickly
Close Following: Alerts when the following distance is too short
Lane Departure: Alerts when the vehicle drifts out of its lane without signaling
Stop Sign: Alerts on stop sign violations
Pedestrian Collision Warning: Alerts when a pedestrian is detected in the vehicle's path
Step 5: Configure Driver Facing Alerts
Use the master toggle to turn all driver-facing detection on or off. Turning it off disables every alert below — they can't stay active independently.
With the section enabled, individual alerts include:
Drowsiness/Fatigue: Detects signs of driver drowsiness or fatigue
Cell Phone Use: Detects handheld phone use while driving
Distracted Driving: Detects general driver distraction (e.g., looking away from the road)
Seatbelt: Detects whether the driver's seatbelt is fastened
Step 6: Save Your Changes
Review all sections to confirm your selections are correct.
Click Save changes.
Wait for the confirmation message: "Settings saved. Configuration delivered to device."
⚠️ Note: If the confirmation doesn't appear, the device may be offline. Changes typically deliver once it reconnects — check back later to confirm.
Using Adaptive Overlay During Event Review
When reviewing an event (e.g., Severe Turn, Lane Departure, Forward Collision) from the Camera Panel, the video player toolbar in the bottom-right corner of Road View lets you control playback and customize overlays.
Video Player Toolbar
Icon | Function |
Time remaining | Shows time left in the clip |
Fullscreen | Expands the player to fill the screen |
Playback speed | Cycles through available speeds |
Snapshot | Captures a still image of the current frame |
Settings (gear) | Opens Overlay Configuration |
Split view | Shows Road/Incabin/Driver views together |
Single view | Shows one camera feed at a time |
💡 Tip: Hover over any icon to see its label.
Configuring Overlays
Click the gear icon to open Overlay Configuration.
Overlay Opacity — slider from 0% (invisible) to 100% (fully solid); default is 100%
Object Types — toggle overlays independently for Vehicles, Lane Line, Pedestrians, and Stop Signs
Lane Line Options — toggle LDW Margins (distance markers) when Lane Line is on
Video Stream Info — toggle burned-in device ID, firmware version, date/time, GPS coordinates, and speed
Display Mode — toggle an alternate overlay layout based on preference
⚠️ Note: Overlay Configuration only changes how footage displays for your review — it doesn't affect what the camera records or alter the underlying event data.
